Team

What is new?

Good practices from several European countries and neighbourhood will be transferred at a European level.
Fixed NESTs will be therefore created on 3 levels: European, national and local. These NESTs can be considered as some kind of Road Safety Houses gathering a maximum of information and awareness material linked to it. This will enable us to ensure guidelines for transfer of know-how between these levels.
There will also be a mobile NEST travelling all across Europe, which will share and make use of high quality technology tools and work on further development of new tools. The educational material and procedures will be of course highly customised according to the different target groups, based on the latest pedagogical guidelines and therefore avoid lecturer classroom arrangements involving participants furthermore in the teaching process.

A European dimension

AVENUE will operate in 8 European countries, with a wide geographical coverage of Europe as well as a wide variety in socioeconomic environment and road safe cultures. Some participating countries have made significant progress towards reducing accidents and fatalities, some have made average progress while a few have made little progress, for which countries we expect to have a higher and measurable impact.

AVENUE’s purpose is linked with the major objective of the European Action Safety Program to improve the behaviour of road users.

EUROPEAN NEST:
This internet website will be a reference point for initiating pan European campaign, educational courses and other actions based on best practices as well as be a reference for the discussion of European trends in road safety and influence policies that will have an impact on a European level. On line free distribution of free multilingual road safety courseware and educational know how will also be created and regularly updated.

NATIONAL NEST:
This national Road safety house will be a reference for launching national actions and will also generate guidelines that will take under consideration the unique national characteristics; however based on other Member states’ best practices.

LOCAL NEST:
The local NEST will be a direct tool for applying methodologies and collect results that will take under consideration the local characteristics and customise actions according to local needs. All public will be able to access Road safety information, culture, rules, awareness campaigns, as well as to try new or best awareness tools and simulators.

MOBILE NEST:
The mobile NEST will offer a wide coverage on a cost effective. Indeed, this mobile Road safety house will bring high quality material and trainings to the institutions that cannot afford it.
